I absolutely loved this heroine, Felicity/Cee Cee! She just did it for me. She was determined to get revenge against the demon that had struck out at her years ago causing her life to veer into a direction she never wanted. When Felicity makes a plan, you can be sure she’ll see it through. Her first plan is drugging Daire Dunne in order to obtain information. Of course her plan succeeds, but not before he curls her toes in a most delicious way. Too bad she had to stick to the plan.

What follows is a madcap chase and capture, chase and capture that was highly entertaining with all of its action, humor, as well as steamy times that just kept getting steamier. While Felicity feels insufficient, she is probably one of the strongest heroines I’ve read from this author. And that strength isn’t physical, although she can kick some serious tail, but it’s in her determination to see things through, her way.

Daire has no plans to find a mate but when he does she’ll be a domesticated little woman ready to take care of her man and give him a soft place to land. Ha! Right! Yeah, we all saw the writing on the wall with that one! While Cee Cee can certainly do the domestics, she’s got things to do and revenge to fulfill.

This had lots of fun interactions between the characters with the banter always perfect and never cheesy or immature. And it’s always offset by the explosions and decapitations that take place. I’m not going to get into the actual plot of the book because there’s a lot there that just works better if you’re not aware of it going in. Not actual twists, just little ah-ha moments that keep you turning the pages.

If you’ve considered reading this series or the Dark Protectors, do it…just do it.

The Dunnes are still working with the motorcycle club to find the distributor of Apollo, one of the few things that kills witches. One day in the club bar Daire Dunne meets Cee Cee who is also looking for Apollo. He picks her up for a one night stand, but once they reach his apartment she shoots tranquilizers into him and steals files relating to the mining of the mineral that makes up Apollo.

Cee Cee isn't her real name and she turns out to be an important person in the supernatural world. She was once mated, but the experimental virus removed the mating bond so she is free to mate again, which explains her adult children. I really liked her and it is very unusual for Rebecca Zanetti to write a heroine who is a mother. The scenes with her children were very funny and I laughed out loud.

Cee Cee is after the man, Ivan Bychkov, who murdered her husband. He's also one of the principal producers of the mineral. She has spent decades planning his takedown and now is the time. Once she gets close to a mine in the Artic her guide betrays her and they have a long fight before Daire hang glides (?) in and saves her. He and Cee Cee are attacked by bears, but Cee Cee pretty much saves both of them by providing an escape to a cabin.

Meanwhile, Ivan Bychkov has been pursuing Cee Cee for years and is waiting for the guide to bring her to him. Cee Cee has been sabotaging him for years and he's pissed. She's also a rare full blood female demon and her brother promised her to him years ago.

A LOT more happens and Daire and Cee Cee grow closer despite her tranqing him twice more. She has her own plans, money, and employees. She wants to destroy Bychkov completely and is fully capable of doing so.

I did get tired of Daire talking her into things by getting her aroused. It happened over and over and is pretty cliché. However, it usually didn't slow her down much and eventually Daire lightens up a bit and is always warm towards Cee Cee. That's as much as you can expect from a Zanetti alpha. You go into these books knowing you're going to get a very pushy alpha and at least Daire has a character arc. I liked him and I don't have a huge amount of patience for inflexible alpha males.
OMG this book was so good! I loved every single minute of it. Daire and Cee Cee were so kick butt. From the first page I was totally engrossed in their story. Then when I found out who Cee Cee really was OMG! That just took my enjoyment of this book to a whole new crazy fan girl level.
Daire was seriously sexy. OMG he was a panty melter. All gruff, grumpy, organized and in control. It was so much fun watching him lose said control and embrace the chaos. Cee Cee was a total trip. She was sweet but completely wild and learning to really live life for the first time. I loved that she was strong, brave and kicked major butt. It was so funny watching Daire eat his words. He went on and on about how his mate was going to be a sweet, safe, homemaker lol. Cee Cee was so far from everything he ever thought he wanted but ended up being perfect for him.
Daire and Cee Cee had explosive passion. Smoke was coming off my kindle because Diare was hot. There was nothing boring about Daire and Cee Cee. He seen the real her and didn't underestimate her and she brought fun and excitement to his life. Can I just say that not only did I love Daire and Cee Cee I did a happy dance because Zane from Marked (Dark Protectors Series) is in this book. Janie and little Hope even made a little cameo and it was awesome! This book was great and I am loving this series!
